Description

Fishappy is a connected product concept that helps fish owners care for their aquarium even when they are not at home.

The experience combines a mobile app with a sensor and automatic food container. Through the app, owners can check feeding, aquarium hygiene, and water temperature, receive notifications, and keep track of each fish’s needs remotely.

The physical prototype explored how the sensor and food dispenser could work inside the aquarium, connecting the digital experience to a real product.

Telling the Fishappy Story

I created the promotional video to make the connected experience easy to understand without relying on a technical explanation.

The story follows a fish owner preparing to leave home and shows how Fishappy keeps them connected to their aquarium. Through illustration, interface animation, and playful transitions, the video introduces the problem, the physical product, and the app as one complete experience.

I designed the product screens, created the visual assets, planned the sequence, and brought the full story together through motion.

Watch Fishappy Work

This video shows how the mobile app, aquarium sensor, and automatic food container work together.

Instead of presenting the screens one by one, I used a simple story to show the value of the product: owners can leave home while still knowing when their fish needs food, when the aquarium needs attention, and whether the water temperature is safe.

Connecting the App to a Physical Product

Fishappy was more than a mobile interface.

The concept included a sensor for monitoring aquarium conditions and a food container that could support remote feeding. I also created a working physical prototype to explore how the digital and physical parts of the experience could connect.

The video helped communicate that relationship in a way that felt simple, friendly, and memorable.

Storytelling Through a Playful World

Fish care can feel technical, so I chose a light and expressive visual direction.

Friendly illustrations, aquarium-inspired colours, and small moments of personality helped explain the product without making it feel clinical. The motion guided viewers from the problem to the solution while keeping the story focused on the relationship between an owner and their fish.

This project helped me practise using storytelling to explain a connected product, not just show its interface.
